These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Caelum Star Registry (“Caelum,” “we,” “us”), operator of caelumstarreg.com (the “Site”). By using the Site or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
When you “name a star,” we record your chosen name against a real, catalogued star in the private Caelum Star Registry and issue a personalized commemorative certificate and related digital materials. Please understand:
We will always be upfront about this. It is part of what makes our service honest.
Within the Caelum Star Registry, the star you name is recorded under your chosen name and is not offered to anyone else: “one star, one owner.” The registry is a private record that we maintain.
All of our products are digital and delivered electronically, by email and through your account, typically within minutes of a successful purchase. We do not ship physical goods. You are responsible for providing a correct email address.
Prices are displayed in US dollars (USD) and are processed securely by Stripe. By completing a purchase, you authorize the charge shown at checkout. Applicable taxes may be added. We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
You confirm that you have the right to submit the name, dedication, or message you provide, and that it is not unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to refuse, edit, or remove any entry that violates these Terms or that we consider inappropriate, and to cancel and refund such orders.
After a refund is issued, the associated registry entry and certificate are voided, and the star is returned to our available catalogue. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer in your country (including, where applicable, rights relating to digital content). Refunds are returned to your original payment method via Stripe.
The Site, its content, branding, and certificate and chart designs are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-commercial license to download, print, and use the certificate and materials we provide for your own keepsake and gifting purposes. You may not resell or commercially exploit them.
The Site and our products are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee that any particular star is visible from your location or with any particular equipment.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or our products is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant order. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Delaware, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above, and your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
